Blood Soaked Wink

walking along the river today

under the highway bridge overpass

with a red-stained saw in my hand and a shovel in the other

I passed a homeless-looking man

with a red-stained axe in his and a spade in his other

and we looked at each other

and then at our tools

and at each other again

and brought a finger to our lips

winked

and continued on.

Maiden Bath

elizabeth báthory bathing in a bloodbath

takes sips of her epileptic cure virgin juice

but tomorrow she’ll still have seizures

and will need a few more maidens from the countryside.

Relevancy

fame is a lens you can’t take off

when your monday nights are in the news

and the things you spill out

get written down with anticipatory penmanship
