Mike Pence’s Presidential Campaign Has Gotten Off To A Weird Start

Former Vice President Mike Pence is hitting the campaign trail early for the 2024 Republican presidential primary by attending as many GOP events as he can, and giving political speeches in all the early voting states.

It remains to be seen if Pence has any appeal as a presidential contender after four years of quiet, mindless loyalty to Donald Trump’s bombastically demagogic presidency, but he insists his character and faith will offer a sharp contrast with Trump’s personality for GOP voters.

However, Pence appears to be unsure of how he wants to present himself and differentiate his campaign from Trump’s third campaign. He has experimented in the following ways to brand himself:

  • Pence floated several potential campaign slogans, including “Getting hard on socialism,” “Penetrating the Left’s radical agenda,” and “Cocky for America.”
  • At a College Republicans event in South Carolina, Pence had the announcer introduce him as “Mikey.” Also, a young campaign staffer tried to get the crowd of college students to chant “Hang WITH Mike Pence,” but they stuck with “Hang Mike Pence” anyway.
  • To date, a fly has landed on Mike Pence’s head at eleven separate events.
  • Pence is giving out odd freebie campaign…
