Like the article, love the Theoden reference ha

I am hoping the polls are accurate in depicting a late surge toward Harris, particularly among undecided voters, suburban white women, and women 65+ who remember life before Roe.

If Harris wins bigger than expected, I look forward to seeing how fervently smart Republicans commit themselves to criticizing and casting out the MAGA aspects of their party that have made them lose repeatedly (the House in 2018, the Senate and presidency in 2020, and no big red wave in 2022). I'm not holding my breath, but I do think it will become quite politically advantageous next week for a whole bunch of Republicans in Congress and state legislatures to forsake Trump and his election-losing divisiveness because he will be too old, senile, washed up, and busy in criminal trials for their partisan interests to continue talking about how beautiful his emperor clothes are.
