What if Democrats opposed doing anything to stop protests outside Brett Kavanaugh’s house the way the GOP opposes gun control?
The recent murder threat against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has inspired Republicans to infringe upon Americans’ Constitutional rights to assembly and protest, but what if Democrats defended the 1st Amendment with the same mindless and absurd logic Republicans use to defend the 2nd Amendment?
It might go something like this:
We Democrats offer our sincerest thoughts and prayers for Brett Kavanaugh, and all the conservative federal judges facing the angry, scary, mob-like wrath of our voters. Now excuse us as we obstruct and derail every effort to increase the slightest, least effective protections for Supreme Court justices for being infringements against our 1st Amendment rights.
While it’s unfortunate that the conservative judges are facing protests outside their homes and places of work, we will not allow our great nation to backslide one inch on these sacred, God-given freedoms.
