The Flâneur’s Day Off

good morning in the gold

on the couch against the window

the boulevard is calm

and so am I.

Positivity Governs

on a cafe’s sidewalk patio chair

a girl sits alone at the table next to mine

talking loudly on the phone

about a promotion and a raise…

how positive life can sometimes be.

Happiness Masterpieces

your soul is in your crow’s feet

the wrinkles in your eyes when you smile

are you a happy person

do you laugh a lot

are you really laughing now

are you really happy?

Jealousless Friends

your most supportive friends will not

be your childhood schoolmates comparing lives forever

but the kindred souls you’ll meet briefly

and follow mutually online for the rest of your lives
