“Coercive Conservatism” Is A Big, Dumb, Ludicrous Joke

There is a new description for the GOP’s contemporary political ideology, as well as Ron DeSantis’s current style of governing: coercive conservatism.

What a fascist concept, one that is utterly paradoxical to traditional conservatism. Nothing says “limited-government” and individual liberty like compelled Christo-fundamentalist ethno-nationalism.

So here are some Dada news absurdities to fight the real absurdities Republicans have subjected us to this week with their delusions of culture war theocracy:

• Disney is reportedly producing an animated film about a flamboyantly homosexual drag queen named “Rhonda Santis.”
• Donald Trump claims no one was harder on bank regulations than he was as president. “No one said regulate the banks more than me. They said I said it too much. They said I wouldn’t shut up about regulating the banks. So this SVB bank failure and the possible widespread bank runs are not my fault! Just like the train derailment in East Palestine wasn’t my fault! They also always used to say I never shut up about train brakes and derailments!”
