One For The Team

I have a feeling of a censorship ultimatum

not of a ripped out tongue or cut hands or exile from wifi

but exhilarating assassination

I’ll challenge someone heavy proving them so wrong

in such a delusion-threatening way

I will convince them not of my cause or specific frame of view

but of a persuasion I should not be permitted

with my progressive ideas and dangerous charm to exist at all

but wouldn’t I be a bohemian flower and democratic weed

if my humanistic passions struck with projectile infamy

murdered for my particular brand of existentialism

beckoned some iconography for the trendy adoption

of a few of my aesthetics

or at least a remembered turn of phrase or two.
